Backstory

the Processed are an enhanced soldier affected by the process of Nanotechnology via the Nano-Cell during the events of Red Faction II. Throughout the events their are various types of Nano-technology enhanced super soldiers, most notably, the main squad consisting of Molov, Alias, Tangier, Shrike, Quill & Repta were all a result of this process.

The main benefit of processing and enhancing soldiers is it appears to be specialised to the individual, increasing their innate behaviours and enhancing their degree of knowledge in their specialist fields.

However - after Sopot created his army of elite enhanced units, he quickly came to realise what he had really made, and began to fear them, ordering them exiled and executed. The squad survived this execution hunt and then teamed up with the Red Faction to put an end to Sopot for good.

Nano-tech Enhanced Civilian

Nano-tech Enhanced Civilian

The Nano-tech Enhanced Civilian is the first type encountered throughout the events of the story. This enemy appears almost zombie-like in their appearance. They are Civilians transformed through Nanotechnology, being tough, but brain dead. They wield a Semi-Automatic Pistol as their chosen weapon, however their real power is displayed at close range - where they can punch their opponents into submission with a couple of blows.

Picking them off with a projectile weapon like a sniper rifle a long range with a precise headshot is an effective way to deal with these enemies.

Nano-tech Enhanced Grunt

Nanotech Enhanced Grunt

The Nano-tech Enhanced Grunt is the second processed enemy that you counter throughout the story. They're the next step in Nano-enhanced warriors, being tougher and better equipped compared to their predecessor. The grunt can be seen wielding the Shotgun and the Assault Rifle as their weapon of choice.

Though they lack armour, their bodies can withstand a sustained attack. Aim for their heads or you'll waste ammunition.

Nano-tech Enhanced Elite Soldier

Nanotech Enhanced Elite Soldier

The Nano-tech Enhanced Elite soldier is the touted pinnacle of the processed units, in which Molov says to Alias - "they make you obsolete."

These soldiers are the final iteration of the processed you face through the events of Red Faction II, and is the most successful looking unit of the processes changes. In the words of Molov they are "Smarter & faster" than anything created previously.

These soldiers can be seen wielding both the Enhanced Machine Gun and the NICW.
