Science and Medical Labs is the eighth level/chapter in the Red Faction single player campaign. It consists of four individual maps and begins after Orion takes Gryphon off your hands in the last section of Maintenance. Eos will eventually give you your next objective: "Grab Capek. He's the key to the whole thing." Medical and Science Labs is followed by L9:Caverns.

L8S1: Medical Research

You'll start the first section of Medical and Science Labs crawling through a vent. Hendrix will message you and tell you to find a quiet place to drop down out of the vent. At the end of the vent, you'll see a nurse have a short conversation before leaving the room. This is the ideal place to drop down to follow the intended route. At this point, you're still in your enviro suit but Hendrix thinks it'd be a better idea to sneak through this chapter and avoid detection. Accordingly, there is a doctor's lab coat hanging up in the room next to the room you dropped down into (facing the door while exiting this room, it is on the right). Picking up the lab coat will limit you to your pistol, just like Corporate HQ. Keep that Pistol holstered and explore the area to find the courier mission that will allow you to progress through this area while maintaining stealth. Once you are out of the lobby area pictured in the screenshot, you should see two guards side by side in the next hallway. Turn right into the corridor before you reach them and head up to the second floor where a doctor will scold you for being late and direct a nurse to lead you to pick up a specimen. Follow that nurse out of the door, down the hall, and through a door on the opposite side of the guards you avoided earlier. After entering that door, head down the ramp to an area with hospital beds where another nurse will say "You'd better hurry. The organs won't keep for long. It'll be your fault if they're unusable." She'll walk you back to some shelves in the back of room where the specimen sits (it looks like a brainstem). Press "Use" (the same button you use to open doors) to pick it up and head back out into the hallway with two guards. Head away from the guards and start down a set of stairs and you'll load into the next section.

Note: Unlike Corporate HQ, stealth is not required in this section but based on the messages from Hendrix and a cutscene at the end of the Chapter which shows Parker in a lab coat, the stealth route appears to be what Volition intended.

L8S2: Cryogenic Storage

L8S2 is a bit of a nailbiter if you're going the stealth/intended route. You will proceed through a hallway through several doors patrolled by several guards. You need to find a viable route to reach the end of the hallway without being spotted. In the final section of the hallway there's a room on the left you'll need to return to later. Once you reach the end of the hallway, you'll load into L8S3.

L8S3: Capek's Lair

Note: If you load this level from the console, you'll end up deep into this section in front of the door to the Medical Lab Administrator's Office.

Loading into Capek's Lair, you'll walk into a large room with a pit in the middle. Facing away from the door you entered this area from, on the left there is a ramp up to the next area you need to go for this "Courier" stealth mission. At the top of the ramp, go through the door and head to the back left of the area where an elevator will take you down to the Operating Room. Head into the Operating Room where the doctor will thank you for delivering the brainstem and give you another one to take to "Cryo". The Cryo room was that room in the final section of the guard hallways in L8S2. Head back that way, load back into that section, and speak to the nurse at the desk. She'll tell you the specimen you have needs paperwork signed by the Administrator before she can accept it. So head back into the L7S3 section and this time when you enter the large area with the pit in the middle, head toward the back right where you'll find a door leading to the Administrator's Office. His office is on the second floor, above a small lobby. The nurse at the front desk of the lobby area will say she'll buzz you through to the Administrator's office. Once you get into the Administrator's Office you have two options: 1. You can pull out your silenced 12mm_Pistol and kill the Administrator to get his keycard for the next area. 2. You can approach the administrator and you should get a message that you've received the authorization. If you choose this second option to cap off the Courier Mission, you can head back to the Cryo room and drop off the specimen but then you'll still need to return to the Administrator's Office and kill him for his keycard. Alternatively, you can point your pistol at him for a long time and he'll drop the keycard without being shot. This "sit and wait" strategy is required if you're going for the "Righteous Cause" trophy on PlayStation or just want to go through a run without killing any civilians. After retrieving the keycard, find the exit door back on the first floor in the main area with the pit. Head down the hallway behind the previously locked door and you'll load into the final section of Medical and Science Labs which is also called Capek's Lair.

Just like the previous sections, if you choose to go the loud route you'd just need to rush to the administrator's office and kill him to get his keycard. There are fewer guards in the lobby below the Administrator if you go the stealth route.

L8S4: Capek's Lair (2)

Note: If you load L8S4 from the console, you wind up in the small area next to the bottom of the elevator rather than the hallway leading to the top of the elevator.

You'll load into L8S4 in a hallway that leads to an elevator. If you've maintained stealth so far, you can get into this elevator without the guard getting alarmed. Do not touch the button on the wall on the outside of the elevator as the elevator will start descending and it descends very fast. Instead, walk up to the elevator doors and they should open and press the elevator button from this inside of the elevator. At the bottom of the elevator, there will be a small room leading to a hallway with purple lights. This hallway has two guards and I don't think it's possible to maintain stealth past them. Your goal in this final section is to get to Capek who is in the room at the end of this hallway. Capek is a room with a few elite guards, on a raised platform behind these guards. If you shoot Capek or try to approach him, a cutscene will play which shows Parker in a labcoat pointing his pistol at Capek. The cutscene does not change if you did not choose to follow the stealth route through the level. After Parker is unable to wound Capek in the cutscene, Capek will leave the room and you'll need to chase him into the next section, Caverns.
