Missile Command Center is the 14th level/chapter in the Red Faction single player campaign. It consists of three individual maps and begins with Parker exiting the airlock you entered at the end of L9: Ultor Comm. Tower and recieving messages from Hendrix . Missile Command Center is followed by L15:Ancient Riverbed.

L14S1: Shooting Gallery

L14S1 starts as Parker exits the airlock from the end of L13S3 and receives some messages from Hendrix regarding the next objective. Hendrix tells you that you'll need to get to the Tram system at the end of the canyon to get to the Missile Command Center. The canyon is short compared to the Grand Canyon or the later Ancient Riverbed. In the last section of this canyon, you'll find several rock formations sticking out of the ground where miners and mercenaries are fighting. The mercs in this section are supported by two cannon turrets above the entrance to the trams. As Hendrix tells you, these mercs are also heavily armed with Heavy Machine Guns and a Rail Driver.

Toward the beginning of the last section of the canyon (near the first few rock formations), there is a sidepath on the left. This path ends at an elevated part of land with generators that is too high to jump up to. If you have any explosives, you can blow a few holes into the side of this wall to create jump surfaces to get up onto the platform. Once up on this platform, there is a manhole cover you can open using your "Use" key which will open up to a ladder that brings you down into an alternate entrance to the building that leads to the Trams. When you get to the bottom of this ladder, you'll be in a hallway that turns left where you'll encounter additional mercs. At the end of this second section of the hallway there's a container with health and armor pickups. Continuing up from where the mercs ran down the ramp toward you, you'll end up in the same entry hallway as if you had gone the alternate/more obvious route toward the trams.

If you forego the above alternate entry into the building through the manhole, you can also just enter the building through the door at the end of the canyon which leads you to the same entry way. At the end of this hallway, there's an airlock compartment with two mercs inside. Pressing the button to open the other side of the airlock will load you into the next section, L14S2.

L14S2: Tramway Tunnel

You'll begin L14S2 exiting a airlock which opens into a small hallway. The door at the end of this hallway opens up into the Tramway Tunnel for which this section is named. Thankfully, there are no electrified rails to worry about but you will need to watch out for an incoming tram car. The way forward is left from the door that opens into the tunnels. After walking down the tunnel, you'll see another door and an open tram station on the left (the same wall you entered the tunnels from). If you're fast enough to beat the tram car, you can either go through this door into a small closet-like room or jump up to the platform. Both the room and the platform are populated by Mercs who won't let you wait for the tram in peace but you don't need to kill all of them to proceed.

When you're ready to move on from this first tram station, enter the tram car. Shortly after entering, the doors will close and the tram car will start moving down the tunnel. Eos will message you to let you know she found the antidote formula and survived the destruction of Capek's Inner Sanctum. She'll also tell you to get up to the Space Station to disable the laser satellite network. Shortly after her message ends, the tram will stop at another station where Mercs will attack. You can either meet them head on or just take cover inside the tram car. If you stay inside the tram car during their onslaught, the doors will eventually close before the tram continues on.

Just after the tram car leaves the second station, a tram car will appear on the other side of the tunnel with a Merc armed with a Rail Driver and another with a Heavy Machine Gun (HMG). The Rail driver can shoot through walls and is a one-shot-kill so you'll need to deal with this Merc as soon as possible. At this point, you may have your own Rail driver and with the alternate fire button you can get a thermal scope to get these Mercs in your sights. Eventually your tram car will reach a third station before loading into L14S3.

L14S3: Missile Command Center

You'll begin L14S3 in the tram car at a new station. This section is heavily populated with well-armed Mercenaries carrying Precision Rifles, Heavy Machine Guns, and Rail Drivers so you'll need to tread carefully. At the back of the station platform you'll find a door which opens into a small security area. The security area has a large door that only opens once you enter the security booth and press a button on the wall. Once this door is open, you'll need to traverse the hallway behind it which has more Mercs and a ceiling mounted turret. At the end of the hallway, you'll find another locked door but this one is opened by a button right next to it. This door opens up the hallway to the Missile Command Console. The room containing the console has three Mercs (one of which has a Rail Driver). On the wall with the windows, there's a button prompt that will play a cutscene of Parker pressing the launch button when you press it.

As soon as the cutscene ends, Hendrix will message you telling you to get out of there before the missile destroys the complex. As soon as you leave the room with the computers, an Ultor tech will rush toward you saying he needs to abort the launch. You'll need to kill this tech (or have a Merc do it with a stray bullet) because if he gets in the computer room you will get a "Game Over" screen. Behind the tech, you'll find a fresh squad of Mercs blocking your way to the tram. You have a limited amount of time to reach the tram so you'll need to decide between engaging the Mercs or running past them. As soon as you get back in the tram car, the tram will speed down the tunnel as the countdown continues over the loud speakers. As the countdown reaches one, you'll load into the next section of the game L15S1: Ancient Riverbed.
