The Red Faction Timeline:

Pre–2050:

The Earth Resource Crisis begins. Earth is nearly depleted of all natural resources, with an impending economic crisis on the horizon threatening to the stability of the Earth's nations.

2050:

Ultor colonizes Mars to begin mining operations. Noachite is mined and shipped back to Earth to stabilize and fuel the economy as the resource crisis grows.

2065:

Victor Sopot is elected Chancellor of the Republic of the Commonwealth.

The Earth Unity Act is formed, with nearly all nations on Earth uniting under the Earth Defense Council banner. The Republic of the Commonwealth remains an isolationist state and does not sign the act. Fueling political tension between it and its EDC neighbors.

2067:

Capek leads the ill-fated MASTers expedition down an ancient shaft. Whereupon he finds a hibernating alien species. After being studied, the aliens awake and slaughter the scientists. Capek is the only survivor, and has the shaft sealed with a special seal to prevent the species from unleashing an armageddon upon the rest of Mars.

2073:

Human rights abuses on Mars begin to grow. The miners living in poor conditions as a mysterious plague begins sweeping the barracks.

Plans for a miner revolt begin to be formed by Eos and Orion.

Richard Gryphon arrives on Mars as replacement Deputy Administrator.

The Inter-Barracks Miner Olympics is formed on Mars after a proposal is submitted to Deputy Administrator Richard Gryphon. It is sponsored, managed, and overseen by the Ultor Administrative branch.

The Red Faction is formed under the guise of a Miner Olympics team to prepare for the revolt.

An Ultor weapons depot is raided by Red Faction rebels Angus Brute and Kava. Angus Brute is mortally wounded and Kava escapes Mars on a shuttle with help from fellow rebels Sekt and Crémant.

2075:

The First Martian Revolution begins. Eos has Sekt sabotage mine generators to allow the first strike of the revolt to begin. Parker fights his way through Mine-M4 and becomes a leading member alongside Eos, Orion, and Hendrix. Ending with a Red Faction victory against Ultor Security Forces and the Ultor Mercenary Regiment with support from the Earth Defense Force. The Plague is cured, Mars is liberated and a sector is named after Parker and Eos. A hall in built in Hendrix's name in Eos to serve as the seat of the newly formed Martian Council.

2078:

The Nano Cell is stolen from Mars, passed around by various Guerrilla and Terrorist groups on Earth.

Chancellor Victor Sopot sends a strike team of elite soldiers to an unidentified military base on Earth to steal the Nano Cell for the Commonwealth. Alias is the only survivor of the ground team and successfully steals the Nano Cell, destroying the base in the process.

Chancellor Victor Sopot begins processing of nano-enhanced super soldiers to augment his military forces.

The Republic of the Commonwealth attempts to annex the neighboring nation of the United Republic under the command of Chancellor Victor Sopot. The attempted annexation begins a war with the Earth Defense Council and sparks civil unrest within the Commonwealth.

2080:

The Earth Defense Force supplies and encourages a revolution in the Commonwealth. Forming the Commonwealth Red Faction and beginning the Commonwealth Civil War.

Chancellor Victor Sopot begins fearing his creations and orders all nano-enhanced soldiers to be executed. A small group survive and form The Squad. Allying themselves with the Red Faction to eliminate Sopot.

Pre-2125:

The Venezuelan Oil Wars begin on Earth. Hugo Davies serves and, after the end of his service, leaves for Mars.

2125:

The Second Martian Revolution begins. Ending with a Red Faction victory over the Earth Defense Force and driving them off the planet.

2150:

The White Faction Crisis begins. Jake Mason defeats Adam Hale and the White Faction.

2170:

The Cultist War begins.

The Battle for The Terraformer begins. Ending with a Cultist victory and the terraformer destroyed. Forcing the entire Martian populace underground to survive the harsh weather conditions.

2175:

The Plague Armageddon begins.
