The Magnetic Rail Gun is a weapon in Red Faction II.

Description

The Magnetic Rail Driver was developed by a secret R & D team of scientists hand-picked by Sopot, the Rail Driver fires metal slugs at extremely high speeds through just about any surface without losing significant velocity. When the scope is engaged, this weapon also allows the user to see through walls and target enemies. The Rail Driver has a long re-load time, but this weapon is very effective and deadly when equipped in experienced hands.

The rail Driver is an extremely good mid to late game weapon. Much like its Red Faction version, is a thermal heat seeking style gun which can spot targets through walls at long range. This makes the weapon extremely useful if you find yourself needing to take out enemies from a hidden position or fighting snipers at a distance. However unlike its counterpart it features 3 slugs in the clip instead of 1, which allows for a slightly more consistent fire rate between reloads.

Throughout the game, both Quill and Molov use the Rail Driver, however Quills usage is only during a cutscene. The player may only gain access to the weapon shortly after the midway point of the games story in the level Hanging In The Hood'.
