You'll load into L15S2 with the airlock at the end of L15S1 opening and Hendrix telling you "Don't stop for anything." That's generally good advice because while you'll have enough ammo and health to engage with each Merc waiting to attack you, you're on a time limit so it's best to keep moving. This level is extremely linear so you'll just want to continue forward until you reach the airlock at the end of the canyon. If you're driving the [[APC]] as intended, you'll have a lot of Mercs in the riverbed but they don't have enough firepower to bother you unless you're playing on higher difficulties. When you reach the airlock at the end of the riverbed, you'll load into L15S4 (There is no L15S3).

Ancient Riverbed is the 15th level/chapter in the Red Faction single player campaign. It consists of three individual maps and begins with a fade in from black in a crashed Tram Car. Ancient Riverbed is followed by L17: Space Station. Of note, the game's map files skip from L15 to L17. There is no L16.

L15S1: Stranded!

As you load into L15S1, you'll find yourself crashed in the tram car from Missile Command. You'll fade in from black and Hendrix will curtly tell you to get moving as you only have ten minutes to reach the Space Shuttle before it takes off. This amount of time is pretty generous but if you do run out at any point, you'll get a "Game Over" screen and need to reload a save. When you exit the tram car by jumping and crouching out of the front window, you'll be in a hallway greeted by the sound of gunfire. Right around the corner you'll face three Mercs and a ceiling mounted turret before continuing past the door behind them into a garage area.

When you enter this "motor pool"/garage area Hendrix will hint that "a vehicle would get you there a lot faster". While this statement is not literally true (it's faster to walk), the APC hidden behind the garage doors will provide cover and abundant ammunition for the trek ahead. The button to open the garage doors is in the small booth at the top of two stair cases on one side of this room. Of course there are several Mercs guarding this area you'll need to fight. Once you reach the APC, you enter it using the "Use" button. You'll find you have 999 Machine Gun rounds, 15 Cannon/Mortar rounds (secondary fire), and 900 "Vehicle Health" that will help you through the next section. As you drive the APC out of the garage, you'll want to turn right into a large airlock area which has one Merc inside. As you head toward the other door in the airlock section you'll load into L15S2.

L15S2: Ancient Riverbed

You'll load into L15S2 with the airlock at the end of L15S1 opening and Hendrix telling you "Don't stop for anything." That's generally good advice because while you'll have enough ammo and health to engage with each Merc waiting to attack you, you're on a time limit so it's best to keep moving. This level is extremely linear so you'll just want to continue forward until you reach the airlock at the end of the canyon. If you're driving the APC as intended, you'll have a lot of Mercs in the riverbed but they don't have enough firepower to bother you unless you're playing on higher difficulties. When you reach the airlock at the end of the riverbed, you'll load into L15S4 (There is no L15S3).

L15S4: Unexpected Cargo

Important note: the game's map files skip from L15S2 to L15S4. There is no L15S3 map. !Under Construction; Description to follow! Important note: the file names for the maps from from L15 for Ancient Riverbed to L17 for Space Station. There is no L16 section.
