Ruin Mode is the Red Faction: Armageddon equivalent of Wrecking Crew from Red Faction: Guerrilla. This mode much like its predecessor revolves around gaining a high score based on damage to structures. Raid features two game modes, Challenge and Free Play. It was originally unlocked to those that pre-ordered the game or purchased online with a code given, later on it has been included for all platforms after launch.
Challenge Mode
During Ruin Mode, you earn points by causing destruction to man-made structures and objects. Different targets award different amounts of points - so make sure to try and find the most valuable to maximize point gain. If you earn points continuously, you will increase your bonus modifier, allowing higher point rewards for simultaneous damage.
You start off with a timer of 1 minute. Should you beat the minimum score designated to the level, you will gain a 15-second time, as well as unlocking the next map.
Only a select few weapons are useable in Ruin Mode. As such, the weapons loadout page is significantly smaller than the single player campaign.
Free Play
During Free play, there is no time limit or score, you can destroy as much as you want in the sandbox environment for as long as you want. Additionally, you also have access to the LEO Exo Suit to damage buildings, as well as gaining an additional four weapons to play with on top of the weapons allowed in Challenge Mode. (Note; Three of these weapons are part of the DLC/Pre purchase bundles.)
