==Description==
The UAS-10 Ultor Automatic Combat Shotgun is a dual-mode weapon capable of both pump action semiautomatic and fully automatic fire. In semi-auto mode, it fires two shells simulataneously, via pump action, with fair accuracy due to the built-in recoil compensator. In full-auto mode, the recoil is more intense, so accuracy is hampered, but its ability to empty its eight 10-gauge buckshot shells in a mere 1.2 seconds, thus effectively laying waste to anything or anyone unfortunate enough to be in its way is more than compensation. The Shotgun is used sparingly by enemies throughout the game, for the most part rather ineffectively, and is never hard to find ammo for.

The Nano Forge is an experimental piece of technology created by using [[Nanotechnology]], used and tested for deconstructing enviroment. [[Ultor]] tested the Nano Forge on many things. The Nano Forge engineers microscopic robots, called nanites, that deconstruct the molecular structure of objects (such as a wall) and/or any lifeform it touches. [[Ultor]] injected this experiment into a weapon, and formed their creation known as the [[Nanorifle (RFG)|Nanorifle]].

== Red Faction: Guerrilla ==

After the [[Ultor]] Corporation's defeat, the [[Nanorifle (RFG)|Nanorifle]] was salvaged in most of the collapsed labs of [[Ultor]] by the [[Earth Defense Force]]. In 2128, the [[Ultor]] [[Nanorifle (RFG)|Nanorifle]] was captured and used by the [[Red Faction (Rebellion)|Red Faction]], during the [[Red Faction (Rebellion)|Red Faction]] - [[EDF]] war. The Nano Forge should be used with care, as it can even kill it's user very easily. The Nano Forge can be found in the Comm Room of the Ultor Facility near Capek's Inner Sanctum. It is put in a somewhat shrine for the Nano Forge. A theory of the skull on the shrine of the Nano Forge is that it's Capek's skull genetically engineered to be larger

== Red Faction: Armageddon ==

The Nano Forge's capabilities seem to be vastly improved in the upcoming [[Red Faction: Armageddon]]. Mentioned abilites in the official trailers and on the official website suggest increased strength, the ability to turn invisible, and to reconstruct matter as well as deconstruct it. How the Nano Forge is able to have these upgrade is unknown as of this time.
The '''Sledgehammer''' is one of the nineteen weapons available for use by players in ''[[Red Faction: Guerrilla]]''.

== Description ==
The hardened steel sledgehammer is a familiar sight to the thousands of prospectors working the mines of [[Mars]]. As such, it is also a useful weapon, since the [[EDF]] are unlikely to consider it a significant threat. The sledgehammer is capable of inflicting moderate structural damage, which can be useful in creating entrances, exits, and vantage points. Additionally, the sledgehammer can be used to eliminate targets silently.

The [[EDF]] doesn’t react immediately when you have this weapon out, so it can be used for silent (albeit messy) kills. Need a backdoor for an escape? Make a new one.

Part of what makes the sledgehammer so powerful is not just [[Alec Mason]]'s strength, but the mass-multiplier servo motor that delivers 1000 pounds of kinetic force.

==Trivia==
*Despite the fact that [[EDF]] won't react to it during gameplay, in the game's opening cutscene, the [[EDF]] officer refers to it as a weapon, and is fearful of it.
*The cheat code '''hardhitter''' may be entered in the game's Extras menu to replace the sledgehammer with the [[Goldbreaker]]. (Note that this cheat cannot be undone and the Goldbreaker will remain permanent)
'''Red Faction: Armageddon''' is the fourth game in the Red Faction series.

== Gameplay ==

The game will retain several elements from its predecessor, [[Red Faction: Guerrilla]], such as fully destructible environments. Also similarly to its predecessor which had the player liberating settlements from the [[Earth Defense Force]], the player must now reclaim cultist fortifications on the disaster-ravaged surface of the planet and free colonists from alien cocoons. Players can also hunt for artifacts to create new alien weapons such as the new [[Nano Forge]], [[Tremblers]] and [[Rhino Charges]]. Although the planet's surface is no longer habitable, gameplay will not be restricted to only the underground caverns of Mars and can still explore and fight on the surface of Mars against the aliens. The game also features a new extermination mode which has four players teaming up to fight against infinite waves of attackers

== Plot ==
After the [[Red Faction (Rebellion)|Red Faction]]'s victory against the [[EDF]], the newly-independent [[Mars]] prospered. Fifty years later, however, the terraforming machine that regulates Mars' environment and atmosphere was damaged, rendering the surface uninhabitable and forcing the populace to move underground into the mines excavated by the first Colonists [[Red Faction (Game)|more than a century before]].

The game begins fifty years after the events of ''[[Red Faction: Guerrilla]]'', and five years after the population's move underground. It follows the story of [[Darius Mason]] -- grandson of Martian Revolution heroes [[Alec Mason|Alec]] and [[Samanya]] -- who runs a lucrative series of businesses based in Bastion (the underground hub of Colonist activity), including mining, scavenging and mercenary work. Only a few sane people venture to the now-ravaged surface of Mars, apart from contractors like Darius and smugglers who transport goods between settlements. At the start of the game, Darius is tricked into reopening a mysterious shaft in an old [[Marauders|Marauder]] temple, releasing a long-dormant race of aliens and causing an [[Wikipedia:armageddon|armageddon]] on Mars.

The game will be released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. <!-- PC source: trailer shows pc dvd-rom logo -->

== Alien speculation ==
It is speculated that the aliens are actually [[mutants]] from [[Capek]]'s Zoo, which appeared in [[Red Faction (Game)|the first Red Faction game]]. This is supported by the fact that ''Armageddon'', like the first game in the series, takes place in underground mines.

== PC Version ==
Fans of the series will be glad to hear that the PC version of Red Faction: Armageddon will be developed in-house by [[Volition Inc.]] and not by [[Reactor Zero]]. It will also use Steamworks as opposed to the Games for Windows: LIVE service used in [[Red Faction: Guerrilla]].

With the release of Red Faction, what developers call "GEO-MOD Technology," revolutionized FPS games as we know it. The ability to blow up buildings or even tunnel underground with the simple shooting of a rocket launcher or the detonation of a remote charge, or even the tossing of a grenade, drove FPS gamers wild!

The "blowing up of a wall" consisted of random demolition of geometry, but as we see things popping up about Red Faction : Guerrilla, we see that with the ongoing developing of gaming and technology, the physics of buildings and how the game handles GEO-MOD Technology is greater than before! The Development team has limited any form of "lag" regarding GEO-MOD Technology and really brought us an amazing game.
== Category Links ==

I noticed that you're using external links on the Main Page's header, to link to categories... There's actually a hidden trick that allows you to use internal links without adding the page to the category.

<code><nowiki>[[</nowiki><b>:</b><nowiki>Category:Red Faction]]</nowiki></code> -> [[:Category:Red Faction]]

Prefixing the Category namespace with a colon (<code>:</code>) forces the link to act as, well, a link. [[User:DavidJCobb|DavidJCobb]] 18:45, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
== Update ==
All the pages need to be updated so they acknowledge that RFG has been released. I fixed up some of them but there are still some out there.

Someone also needs to change the Main Page, as it says that the new DLC will be available for 9.99 on the XBL marketplace, which is impossible. 800 points=$12.50 if you have zero points.

== Completion ==

Has anybody here besides me actually completed the game? All of the pages refer to "six" sectors even though there are seven. An entire page for Mount Vogel was missing (which I created).<spoiler> And where is it said that Jenkins was ever behind the attack on the Badlands base in the game?</spoiler>

== Other RF Wiki? ==
== MediaWiki extensions ==
Whoever manages this wiki (in terms of the server, the PHP) may want to look into getting the following extensions installed.
;Cite
:Allows us to add inline citations (as footnotes/endnotes) that are numbered automatically. Can also be used for regular footnotes. Makes citing sources extremely easy and convenient (compared to the current solution, which requires manually-maintained SUP tags). (Honestly, this should be standard on every wiki, I've no clue why it's not.)
;ParserFunctions
:Allows more flexible logic, such as if-then-else statements, in templates.
[[User:DavidJCobb|DavidJCobb]] 19:19, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

== Adding extensions ==

Will look into those. Thanks [[User:Digi|digital_ruler]] 22:18, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

== WebCite ==

PROTIP: Using [http://www.webcitation.org/ WebCite] allows us to cite pages without having to deal with dead links that may arise in the future. The service essentially creates a copy of any given URL.

The RFII, RFG, etc., sites are already defunct. Perhaps this can be useful for citing the RFA site, though since that's Flash, things could get... tricky. [[User:DavidJCobb|DavidJCobb]] 17:57, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Red Faction: II is the second game in the Red Faction series developed by [[Volition Inc.]] and published by [[THQ Inc.]] in 2002. Unlike [[Red Faction (Game)|Red Faction]] and [[Red Faction: Guerrilla]], this game was directly ported from the PS2 to the Xbox and PC by Outrage. Lack of online multiplayer, developer support and editing tools were disappointing to most fans.

==Plot==
The game, much like its predecessor, has basis in the real-life Red Army Faction; many storytelling themes that were prevalent in [[Red Faction (Game)|Red Faction]] are more pronounced in this sequel.

Earth. Twenty-second century. Five years after the rebellion on [[Mars]]. For 15 years, [[Sopot|Chancellor Victor Sopot]] has oppressed the people of the [[The Republic of the Commonwealth|Commonwealth]]. His corrupt rule and a relentless war of unification with the [[United Republic]] has left the [[The Republic of the Commonwealth|Commonwealth]] bloodied and impoverished. As distant battles rage, sewage taints [[Sopot City]]’s rivers, pollution smudges the sky, and wretched citizens huddle in crumbling ruins. The [[PIB|Public Information Building]], built by the dictator as a tribute to himself, broadcasts lies about [[Sopot]]’s bravery and the [[The Republic of the Commonwealth|Commonwealth]]’s military victories.

Condemned to death by Chancellor [[Sopot]], six super-soldiers unite to save their country, vowing to overthrow [[Sopot]] using the unique powers that [[nanotechnology]] has given them. Join the squad as [[Alias]], a demolitions expert. Fight side-by-side with [[Molov]], [[Repta]], [[Shrike]], [[Tangier]], and [[Quill]]—each possessing unique attributes and specialties. Battle through diverse environments using vehicles, an arsenal of specialized weapons, and explosives in a mission to overthrow the government. Defeat [[Sopot]] and restore the honor of the [[The Republic of the Commonwealth|Commonwealth]]!

==Previous Games==
[[Red Faction (Game)|Red Faction]] is the only previous game in this series.

==Sequels==
[[Red Faction: Guerrilla]] is the sequel to Red Faction II.

==Trivia==
The manual claims that the processing date for the subjects (the main characters) was mostly around the year 2161. However; this is nearly 40 years after the events of Red Faction: Guerrilla. This has never been clarified by Volition, and judging by this error and the fact that the "reformed" Ultor corporation is nowhere to be seen in Red Faction: Guerrilla, it can be assumed for simplicity's sake that the events of Red Faction II are non-canon.

Red Faction is the first game in the Red Faction series developed by [[Volition Inc.]] and published by [[THQ Inc.]]

==Introduction==
Red Faction takes place on [[Mars]] in the late 21st century, more specifically around the year 2078. Earth’s minerals are being depleted and humans need more of them to survive. The vast [[Ultor]] Corporation runs the [[Noachite]] mining operation on Mars. The living conditions are deplorable, human rights for the miners are few, and a disease called the [[Plague]] is running rampant throughout the colony, predominantly within the confines of the mine complex, with no known antidote available. You play the role of [[Parker]], a downtrodden [[miner]] taken in by the promises and advantages [[Ultor]] has to offer in the mines of [[Mars]]. After a routine day in the mine with the typical aggression toward miners and cramped living conditions and poor nutrition, he witnesses the spark that starts a rebellion. When a security guard abuses a miner at the end of his shift he heartlessly kills him. [[Parker]] takes up arms, with the help of Hendrix, a rebellious Ultor technician who guides [[Parker]] through the complex. [[Hendrix]] tries to get [[Parker]] to join up with a group of miners who are about to steal a supply ship and escape the complex. [[Parker]] arrives too late. The ship takes off but is destroyed by missiles.

[[Parker]] traverses through the Ultor complex, eliminating any resistance [[Ultor]] throws at him, and even kidnapping a high-ranking [[Ultor]] administrator, [[Gryphon]], for [[Eos]], leader of the Red Faction. [[Parker]] learns from [[Gryphon]] about Dr. [[Capek]], who created the [[Plague]]. [[Capek]] has been experimenting with [[nanotechnology]], and the [[Plague]] is a side-effect. [[Hendrix]] directs [[Parker]] to [[Capek]]'s secret underground laboratory, where he and [[Eos]] meet up and take down [[Capek]]. Before [[Capek]] dies, he tells [[Eos]] how to cure "The [[Plague]]". After sending a distress call to the [[Earth Defense Force]], [[Parker]] stows away on a shuttle to an [[Ultor]] space station in Martian orbit to deactivate a laser defense system.

After destroying the space station, [[Parker]] lands back on [[Mars]] via an escape pod, [[Ultor]] brings out its reserve of [[Merc|mercenaries]] to help them in their fight against the miners. [[Hendrix]] tells [[Parker]] that the [[Merc|mercenaries]] have orders to destroy the mining complex, covering up any proof of [[Ultor]]'s wrongdoing. After fighting his way through the [[Merc|mercenary]] base, [[Parker]] confronts [[Masako]], the [[Merc|mercenary]] leader. After killing [[Masako]], [[Parker]] sees that [[Eos]] is tied up and sitting on the floor next to the bomb, which has been set to explode. After deactivating it, the [[Earth Defense Force]] arrives just in time to save [[Parker]] and [[Eos]] from an [[Aesir]]. [[Eos]] tells [[Parker]] that an antidote for the [[Plague]] has been made and it is being given to any sick [[miner]]s. She also tells him she is leaving [[Mars]], and that he should enjoy his new status as a hero.

==Description==
[[Volition Inc.]], the creators of the FreeSpace and Descent series, developed Red Faction, a game for PlayStation® 2, PC, and Macintosh. Framed by impressive features including an astonishing physics engine, controllable vehicles, intense graphics, kick-ass weapons, unique natural environments and a hugely involving storyline, Red Faction is a must-have title for serious gamers.

==Story==
As all [[Volition Inc.]] games do, Red Faction contains a hugely immersive storyline that will contribute highly to the game play. You are a miner named [[Parker]], toiling in the mines on Mars for a deceiving company known as [[Ultor]]. The conditions are worsening day by day, and there is talk of a rebellion. All the miners are suffering from a strange, deadly disease called the [[Plague]] that is suddenly sweeping through their ranks. The miners' anger and resentment are ready to boil over, and the player provides the spark that starts a rebellion against [[Ultor]]. The player's goal is to stay alive long enough to bring down [[Ultor]] and solve the mystery of the [[Plague]]. This journey takes him from gritty subterranean mines to [[Ultor]]'s pristine science and [[nanotechnology|nanotech]] labs to the surface of [[Mars]] and even onto satellites orbiting high above the planet.

==Geo-Mod==
Red Faction is the first and only series to feature [[Geomod]] technology, which allows the player to dynamically alter the 3D environment in real-time; i.e.: a rocket blowing a hole in a wall.

==Features==
* [[Geomod(Engine)|Geomod]] Engine - the only FPS with real-time, arbitrary geometry modification
* Advanced physics simulation - supports falling geometry, particles and liquid

The game begins five years after the relocation and follows the story of [[Darius Mason]], grandson of Martian Revolution heroes [[Alec Mason]] and [[Samanya]], who runs a lucrative series of businesses based in Bastion, the underground hub of Colonist activity, including mining, scavenging and mercenary-work. Only a few sane people venture to the now-ravaged surface of Mars, apart from contractors like Darius and smugglers who smuggle goods between settlements. Darius is tricked into reopening a mysterious shaft in an old Marauder temple which releases a long-dormant race of aliens causing an Armageddon on Mars.

The game is expected to be released for (at least) the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

==Alien speculation==
It is speculated that the aliens are actually mutants from [[Capek]]'s Zoo, which appeared in the first Red Faction game. Due to the game taking place in the mines.

Red Faction: B.E.A.S.T. was a canceled third person shooter action video game that was originally being developed exclusively for the Wii. The game was a spin-off of the [[Red Faction (series)|Red Faction series]], becoming the fourth release in the franchise. Before being closed due to corporate restructuring by publisher and franchise owner THQ, the game was being developed by Locomotive Games.

== Gameplay ==

The game, as revealed by a leaked video, is primarily a third person shooter. The game was being designed entirely around the Wii Remote and would have included Wii MotionPlus technology. It featured a cover system akin to Red Faction: Guerrilla and earned positive comparisons to Gears of War's popular cover system.

While having a new game engine being tailored especially for the Wii, the game still would have integrated series staple [[Geo-Mod 2.0|Geo-Mod]] capabilities, which allows players to use vehicles and weapons to completely modify the environment, namely terrain and buildings to the point of crumbling or collapsing.

== Development ==

While B.E.A.S.T. was never officially announced, a trailer and screenshots leaked on January 15 by THQ employees were released and the games' existence was confirmed. The trailer showcased the new Geo-Mod technology along with the Wii's graphical capabilities. Further shown features were the third person perspective with accompanying cover system.

On November 4 2008, THQ officially shut down Locomotive games, putting the game in a possible state of limbo. Soon after being closed, the aforementioned trailer was released. The games' development rights reverted back to THQ, who has no plans to continue production at any time.

==Plot==
Red Faction: Guerrilla is a 3rd person, open-world action shooter set on [[Mars]], set roughly 50 years after the events of the original [[Red Faction (Game)|Red Faction]] (around the year 2120). Players take the role of an insurgent fighter named [[Alec Mason]] with the newly re-established [[Red Faction(Rebellion)|Red Faction]] movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive [[Earth Defense Force]] ([[EDF]] - allies in the first [[Red Faction (Game)|Red Faction]]). Throughout their fight for freedom, players carve their own path, wreaking havoc across the vast, open-world environment of [[Mars]], from the desolate mining outpost of [[Parker(Settlement)|Parker]] to the gleaming [[EDF]] capital city of [[Eos(City)|Eos]] to the [[Earth]]-like region known as [[Oasis]].

[[Image:Red_Faction_Guerrilla.jpg|350px|right|thumb|Red Faction: Guerrilla boxart]]

Utilizing improvised weapons, explosives and re-purposed mining equipment and vehicles, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to tear through fully destructible environments in an unforgiving Martian landscape swarming with [[EDF]] forces, Red Faction resistance fighters, and the downtrodden settlers caught in the cross-fire. Red Faction: Guerrilla also features a robust multiplayer component, including several modes focused on destruction-based gameplay.

The game starts out with [[Alec Mason]], the protagonist, landing on [[Mars]] and meeting his brother, [[Dan Mason]]. As they drive through the streets of [[Mars]], a group of [[EDF]] cars nearly crashes into them. This starts Dan talking about all of the horrible things [[EDF]] has done to the people of [[Mars]]. As he speaks, scenes of cruelty are shown, such as death squads and beatings. When Alec and Dan arrive at their destination, an abandoned lab, they spot a gunship flying in the air. The player is then tasked with destroying the abandoned buildings while their brother keeps a lookout. As the player returns to the vehicle, the gunship returns and orders Dan to surrender, revealing that he was part of [[Red Faction]]. When Dan tries to run, the gunship shoots him and Alec. Alec survives but Dan is killed instantly. He returns to Dan's home to find that [[EDF]] has raided the house. When the soldiers see Alec they order him to drop his "weapon" (a sledgehammer). Alec is accused of being a part of the Red Faction insurgents by the commander and is placed under arrest. Despite Alec's protests of arriving today which is responded with the commander saying "I guess you work fast." And retorts that Alec had detonators for the remote charges the player used in the first game play sequence. Alec responds to being a mining engineer and having a permit for the charges, which results in the commander pushing him off and retorts once more "It just got revoked!" the commander then orders the platoon with him to shoot and kill Alec. Before he can be killed [[Red Faction]] members start engaging the soldiers. As all of soldiers fall except for the commander, Alec picks up the sledgehammer and kills the leader with it. The leader of the [[Red Faction]] walks up to Alec and tells him that whether he likes it or not, he is now part of the rebellion.
A cataclysmic event of Mars' surface has forced those above to begin life anew in the mines below. A swarm of surface-dwelling creatures have invaded the underground mine network and threaten the lives of those who live there.

==Trivia==
In the [[Dust]] [[Safehouse]], the radio operator can occasionaly be heard saying "Cut the chatter Freeman,"
This may be a possible reference to Half-Life's protaganist, Gordon Freeman. This is hinted to not only in the name Freeman, but also in that the Gordon of Half-Life does not talk.

In the EDF bases, calls for Pvt. Calhoon are made over the speaker system. This is a reference to Barney Calhoun of the HL series.

The areas Parker and Eos are named after characters from RF1.

In Eos, there is the Hendrix Memorial, as well as Hendrix Hall. Hendrix was a character who helps you (but dies) in RF1.

In Eos, there is the body and radio tag of Alias, the hero from RF2.

In Eos, there is a War Memorial statue which has a plaque. One of the names on the plaque is Bryan Adams (a singer).

In Badlands, there is an old man who constantly reminisces about the good old days, etc. Listen to him long enough and he says "They used to call me Crazy Parker". This could be Parker, the hero from RF1.

In Badlands, you will find one of the Martian Rover probes.

The "It just got revoked" line may be a reference to the famous line in [[wikipedia:Lethal Weapon 2|Lethal Weapon 2]]

There's a glitch at the [[Dust Safehouse]] where if you smash the thing the guy who is lying on his back is welding then the guy gets crushed and the arm he was using to weld flies about madly.

==Plot==

==Sequels==
[[Red Faction: Guerrilla]] is the sequel to Red Faction II.

==Trivia==

==Introduction==

==Story==

==Geo-Mod==
Red Faction is the first and only series to feature [[Geomod]] technology, which allows the player to dynamically alter the 3D environment in real-time; i.e.: a rocket blowing a hole in a wall.

==Features==
* [[Geomod(Engine)|Geomod]] Engine - the only FPS with real-time, arbitrary geometry modification
* Advanced physics simulation - supports falling geometry, particles and liquid
* Land, sea and air vehicles to commandeer and control
* A completely immersive and compelling storyline
* Stealth and action driven objectives
* Varied environments including natural settings unique to the genre
* Object shadow casting and more
* Advanced AI behavior in 20 dynamic 3D levels
* Real-time skeletal deformation and interpolation for silky smooth animations
* Location-based damage system
* [[RED|Proprietary level editor]] that is faster, easier and more advanced than any on the market
* Multi-player support for LAN and Internet

*''Taken from Red Faction Watch [http://redfaction.volitionwatch.com/description.shtml]''

==Sequels==
[[Red Faction II]] and [[Red Faction: Guerrilla]] are the only two known sequels in the Red Faction series.
}}
'''Axel Capek''' was a character who appeared in the original ''[[Red Faction (Game)|Red Faction]]''. He is usually referred to by his surname.

Capek was a classic "[[Wikipedia:mad scientist|mad scientist]]" working for the [[Ultor Corporation]]. On [[Mars]], he conducted secret [[nanotechnology]] experiments on the already-brutalized miners working in Ultor labor camps. The early stages of his research led to the creation of the [[Plague]], the [[Mutants]], and possibly the [[Marauders]]; later, the [[EDF]] and [[The Commonwealth]] would use the research to create [[Wikipedia:supersoldier|supersoldier]]s.

== Biography ==
Very little is known about Capek's life. Clearly, he was a nanotechnology expert, and a man possessing a high degree of intelligence. His attitudes and words reveal that he was also [[Wikipedia:Megalomania|megalomaniac]] and possibly even a [[Wikipedia:Antisocial personality disorder|sociopath]]. He was ruthless and remorseless.

From his own words, it can be assumed that he originally conducted his research on [[Earth]]; however, Earth's scientific (or corporate?) community quickly shunned him, prompting his relocation to Mars. The target of his research is unknown; while Capek has made many allusions to it ("''Where all others have failed, I will succeed.''"), he doesn't appear to have explained it to anyone.

On Mars, the Ultor Corporation supplied him with numerous unwilling test subjects. These test subjects, upon exposure to nanotechnology, became horribly disfigured and lost all capability for rational thought. Those that weren't immediately mutated ended up dying from Capek's other creation: the Plague. Occasionally, Ultor staff members would object, only to find themselves meeting the same fate as the other test subjects.

During the [[Red Faction (Rebellion)|Red Faction]]'s revolt in 2078, Capek was killed by [[Parker]], and the Plague was cured.

== Own Words ==
Soon the day will come when I can tell of my discoveries. For they are indeed mine, no matter that Ultor supplied the equipment and subjects. Without me, Ultor would still be stumbling in the unenlightened darkness. Where all others have failed, I will succeed.

On Earth, my studies were quickly halted by shortsighted fools. But Ultor had the wisdom to appreciate the ultimate purpose of my inquiries. Here on Mars, my work has the freedom and support it needs to flourish. Though some must suffer, their sacrifices will not be in vain, for my discoveries will benefit all mankind. The end truly does justify the means.

There has been opposition even within Ultor's organization here. When I first arrived, the Administrator refused to sanction the experiments necessary for my research. He soon became a subject of those experiments, involuntarily contributing a wealth of useful data. His replacement, the former Deputy Administrator, was much more accommodating. The new Deputy Administrator, Richard [[Gryphon]], was a source of concern when he reached Mars, somewhat over a year ago. After a meeting with me, however, he quickly became one of my most ardent supporters, eliminating the need to have him join the experiments.

Progress is driven by men of vision. The world will soon realize that I am one of these. Wherever I've gone, there have always been those who would hold me back. Before Ultor invited me to lead their efforts, my work had been hampered by the cowardice of others. Everywhere I'd been - company laboratories, university research centers, government institutions - lab directors and department supervisors were constantly interfering with my work, halting investigations along lines of research that made them queasy or nervous. When Ultor invited me to continue my inquiries in their mining complex on Mars, free of oversight and restrictions, I knew that my time was approaching.

With the resources of the Ultor Corporation to support my efforts, my research is about to bear fruit. For five long years, I have sequestered myself deep beneath the surface of Mars, experimenting, analyzing, and refining my techniques. I have endured years of frustration, as subject after subject died or exhibited results outside the acceptable range. I have dared to persevere, and I am now about to reap the rewards of my great labors. Within my grasp is the golden ring -- elevation to the immortal pantheon of the giants of scientific progress. This I will not be denied.

Though many have investigated nanotechnology, all before me have fallen into unimportant sidetracks or shied away from the final revelations. None but I have grasped its true promise. Far more interesting than its effects on our environment is its infinite potential when applied to organic systems. Here, in Ultor's isolated facilities, I have had unfettered access to the subjects necessary to gauge the effectiveness of our serums. Of all the organizations for which I've labored, only Ultor has understood the importance of this.

Nothing can be allowed to interfere with my progress now, so near the end. Let others panic over inconsequential matters; I shall remain focused on my great task. If the miners are agitated, that is a matter for the military to handle. If Gryphon's beetle-browed security guards cannot keep the masses in check, perhaps Col. [[Masako]]'s mercenaries can finally prove their worth. My work and equipment must be protected, no matter the cost.

I have long thought that a violent miner uprising may actually turn out to be a boon to my research. In the confusion, live, uninfected miners could be captured without arousing suspicion. These could serve as experimental subjects to be observed in closely supervised conditions while the infection runs its entire course. I'll contact Gryphon and Masako about procuring such subjects if trouble does erupt. A revolt would have another benefit: Any violence would account for the many missing miners, thus solving a problem that has been concerning weak-willed individuals within the administration.

Given the potential advantages, perhaps I should devise a plan to trigger an uprising. It shouldn't be hard to arrange it so that Neanderthal, Masako, never knows I'm responsible. And that is a critical consideration. The mercenaries' protection of my facilities will be required once events are set in motion, so it would not do for Masako to blame me for the revolt. Yes, this will bear additional thought.

==Trivia==

<spoiler>* In [[Red Faction: Guerrilla]], during a mission to recover the [[Nano Forge]] out of the old [[Ultor]] labs, you hear recordings of Capek's message to Parker from the first Red Faction game. If you look closely, you will notice you are also in Capek's Inner Sanctum; you can recognize the elevator in the middle and the windows in the upper deck.</spoiler>
* Capek's only weapon, the [[Capek Cane|energy cane]], is homing, goes through walls, and inflicts high amounts of damage. On higher difficulties, it can instantly kill you.

[[Image:Parkertown.jpg|500px|right|thumb|Parker.]]
Parker is the slum of Mars. If you just want to try to work the land for a living, this is where you'll be sent, altough you'll still have to sell the ore at the corporation owned mills. It's just another way the [[EDF]] is keeping people down.

==Overview==
All in all, Parker is like a training grounds, most of the sector is urbanized. Having small settlements, like the [[Red Rock trading post]], throughout the area. The Red Faction only has one safehouse, but has another abandoned one located not to far up the road. Parker sector was, obviously, named after the famous Red Faction soldier, who liberated mars from the nefarious [[Ultor Corporation]]. The funny thing is, [[Parker]] may still be [[Old Coot|alive]], altough not in this sector, but [[The Badlands]].

==Targets==
There is only one [[high importance target]] in this sector, the ore refinary

==Threats==
The only real threat in this sector is the EDF, and even then it isn't that heavy. When a red alert is raised, don't expect tanks or gunships to make their way to your position. It is very rare to even see an APC make its way to you, often instead the staff car is used as troop transport.

==Trivia==
After Alec destroys the old safehouse, the Voice of Mars will begin broadcasting that [[EDF]] forces have destroyed it, but a few guerrillas were still there and caused some casualties.

==During RF:G==
Parker, with the help of [[Alec Mason]] was the first region liberated by the [[Red Faction (Rebellion)|Red Faction]] in 2128.
