Common Issues
Intermittent game crashes |
Answer: If you're running the GoG version, try updating your game or use GoG Galaxy. Kaiko has indicated that some GoG users running older versions may experience crashes. Otherwise, the best way to get help with these kinds of issues is to join the Red Faction Community Discord and describe the issue you're facing. |
Frequent lag while playing multiplayer |
Answer: Due to the game's multiplayer using a peer-to-peer networking model, and the lack of traditional dedicated servers, the "server" is hosted by one of the players in a game. Because of this, gameplay will likely be laggy at times, depending on the performance and network connection of the player chosen as the host.

Terrain vanishes in Badlands or harpoons get stuck when fired from turrets |
Answer: In Red Faction: Guerrilla (both the Steam Edition and the Re-Mars-tered version), when the framerate exceeds 120FPS for too long, a rendering glitch that causes most of the terrain to vanish can occur in the Badlands. Harpoons fired from Marauder turrets will also frequently get stuck in the turret at framerates exceeding 120FPS. Answer: Yes! When starting the game for the first time, you will be asked if you wish to import any Steam Edition save game files.
